Over two years ago eParisExtra.com first broke the news that Paris could be home to a new hospital/planned community development.  This Friday, Paris Lakes Medical Center will, at long last, break ground on the Southeast Loop this Friday.  The loop front acreage was purchase by Paris Lakes from Dr. Ted McLemore last month.

Paris Lakes, the brainchild of developer and principal Ron Parker, will initially begin with an Ambulatory Surgery Center, to be followed by a hospital, hotel, retail, office and residential development , including senior and assisted living facilities.

To some it has seemed a long time coming since the initial announcement of the development.  Parker told eParisExtra.com that to do a development of this size simply takes time.

“There are a lot of moving parts,” said Parker, “the amount of legal work necessary to bring in an operator of a first class medical facility, not to mention the financing necessary to put it all together, simply takes time.”

The multi-year development project is expected to employ contractors and construction workers for several years.  More details are expected to follow Friday’s ground breaking ceremony.  Parker’s company Cliff Creek Builders’ past international construction projects include work on Atlantis in the Bahamas as well as the Four Season in the Bahamas, the Ritz Carlton in the U.S Virgin Islands, and The One and Only Palmilla in Los Cabos.
