A Paris man plead guilty and will spend more than two decades in prison for the robbery of Swaim’s Hardware this past January.
24-year-old Zachary Chavez Simmons was sentenced to 25 years for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon this past Wednesday by Lamar County Judge Bill Harris.
On January 18, 2014, Simmons entered Swaim’s Hardware, brandished a handgun and ordered the clerk to lay down on the floor. The suspect stole two handguns from a display case before fleeing the scene.
Simmons was arrested without incident at his home at the Washington Square Apartments in the 10 block of W. Washington St. on July 31.
He was being held on $75,000 bond.
