A book signing for “Polly The Food Snob Meets Olive Paris” is scheduled for Saturday, November 29, from noon until 7:00 at Olive Paris, located at 115 S. Main Street in downtown Paris, Texas.
“This is my second cookbook,” says Polly Holladay, “and this time the recipes within feature products sold at what’s become my favorite culinary haunt: Olive Paris. There are so many deliciously unique olive oils and balsamic vinegars, as well as a vast array of other specialty food items available there. The premise for writing this cookbook was to provide ideas and simple directions to those who aren’t quite sure how to incorporate them into their own menu planning. My hope is that this will be a springboard for everyday culinary imaginations to flourish, as well as for future cookbook projects based on other gourmet items that owner, Robyn Zimmerman, carries.”
Recipes including Sesame Ginger Pork Fettuccine Salad, Orange Drop Cream Cheese Bread, Holiday Pumpkin Cream Topped Cinnamon Nutmeg Pasta, Polly’s Loaded And Spiced Apple Pie and more, will make a believer out of the most skeptical novice that delicious dishes don’t have to be difficult.
She continues, “I’ve noticed and been impressed with how some of the area businesses such as Olive Paris, Paris Bakery, 107, and That Guy’s Coffee, support one another, carrying each other’s products and encouraging others to patronize each other’s establishments. It’s an honor to have my cookbook play a small part in that practice, as I, too, take note of or highlight those same businesses and products, as well as their contact information. It brings a sense of community that others can appreciate and, hopefully, inspires expanded participation.”
Just in time for the holidays, “Polly The Food Snob Meets Olive Paris” can be made a part of unique gift basket combinations by including some of the Olive Paris products needed to prepare one or more of The Food Snob recipes. or paired with a gift certificate so recipients can make their own selections.
This new cookbook retails at $16.95, but will be available that day only for the special sale price of $15. And her previous work, “Cooking With Polly The Food Snob”, drops down to $10 to finish out the season.
Besides time visiting with customers and signing copies of the book, Polly will also be offering samples of her creations as well as a cooking demonstration in the upstairs loft.
“Come and enjoy a fun filled event at Olive Paris. And, bring the kiddos, because I hear that a certain “Jolly Old Fellow” is making his appearance, as well. Don’t worry. I have the cookies covered!”
