Home Invasion and Burglary this Morning on 15th SE street

paris police carAt 3:39 this morning, December 3rd, Paris Police received a 9-1-1 call of a burglary in progress of a residence in the 1200 block of 15th SE street.. Upon arrival, officers learned that two male suspects had kicked in the front door and entered the home. One suspect was armed with a handgun.

During the robbery, one shot was fired inside the home, not at anyone. As the suspects attempted to leave with flat screen TV’s, one got outside the residence but the homeowner got into a fight with the second suspect.

The wife of the homeowner, made it out of the house, running to neighbors to call 9-1-1. During the fight, suspect #2 was incapacitated and was arrested immediately by officers who arrived on scene. Ebony Patton, who had alerted neighbors to call 9-1-1 was last seen running back to her residence.

For a period of time this morning, Ms. Patton was missing but has since been located and is unharmed. 

No vehicle was seen by any of the victims or witnesses. There were five people in the home at the time of the robbery, two adults and three children. The homeowner is identified as Elbert Patton and received minor injuries during the altercation. None of the children were injured.

Suspect #2 was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He has been released from the hospital and is in custody at the city jail. Detectives are interviewing him at the time of this release.

Officers continue the investigation.
