The Paris Fire Department responded to a structure fire located at 2180 Cedar Street Friday Morning just before 5:00 A.M.
The home was heavily damaged by the fire. Fire units were on scene for approximately two hours.
A smoke alarm had activated and woke up the family and, they were able to make it out safely. When firefighters arrived they found the main body of fire in the living room and kitchen area.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly and minimize the damage to the home. Approximately 25% of the home was damage by fire. The home is repairable.
There were no injuries as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire is believed to have started at or near an electric heater that was being used at the time of the fire.
The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist survivors of the fire.
