Imogene Bratcher Tomblin, 87, of Paris, passed away Monday, May 06, 2013, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 8th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tomblin, the daughter of John & Arra Trapp Bratcher, was born Jan. 30, 1926, in Lamar County.
She married Marion Adrain Tomblin on Nov. 5, 1948, building fifty-nine years of family and memories before his death on Dec. 5, 2007.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and an avid cook. Her career as an aid with the North Lamar ISD at the Cecil Everett Elementary campus spanned twenty years before her retirement in 1989.
On Wednesday afternoons her camping friends always came to her house to play Canasta.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, Dovie Dell Byas and four brothers, William “Bill” Bratcher, Ollie “Red” Bratcher, Leonard Bratcher and Haskell Bratcher.
Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Marshall & husband Kenneth of Hopewell, granddaughter, Kelli Mallicote & husband Grant of Tigertown, sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law: Jeanie Bratcher, Wayne & Ann Tomblin, Faye Caviness, Thomas & Rita Tomblin, Madge Tomblin and Herschel Blankenship along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Larry Bratcher, Richard Bratcher, Gerald Wayne Byas & David Issac Power.
