Isaac F. Jewett, Sr., 90, of Reno, passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Jody VanDeaver & Rev. Shane Oats officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Bethel Cemetery near Fulbright. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Jewett, the son of Walter & Mary Beck Jewett, was born Feb. 5, 1924, in Fulbright.
He served in the U. S. Army Air Corp during World War II. His career with B & W spanned fifteen years before his health forced his retirement. For many years he led the singing at First Baptist Church of Detroit. Ike was now a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann Gordon Jewett, whom he married on June 3, 1953, building more than sixty-one years of family and memories, one son, Isaac F. Jewett, Jr. & wife Brenda of Paris, one daughter, Karen D. Ballard & husband Tony D. of Clardy, grandchildren, Michelle Hobbs & husband Dalen, Erick Jewett, Lance Ballard & wife Shelly and Kayshia Ballard, a great grandchild, Audrey Hobbs, three sisters, Margaret Cavender of Detroit, Irene Nichols of Paris and Christene Sutton of Dallas along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by 7 brothers, Charlie Jewett, Luther Jewett, Lonnie Jewett, Tommy Jewett, Andrew Jewett, Walter Jewett, Jr. and George Jewett, and 4 sisters, Pauline Benedict, Nanie Lee Cavender, Josephine Turnbow and Gracie Jewett.
Casket bearers will be: Jacob Allison, Tony D. Ballard, Lance Ballard, Erick Jewett, Dalen Hobbs & Bobby Pomroy. Honorary bearers will be: Mack Stafford, Michelle Hobbs, Kayshia Ballard & Shelly Ballard.

Glenda Jean Gonzales, 80, of Cooper, passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at Birchwood Manor.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17th, at Detroit Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gonzales, the daughter of Isaac & Ola Hayes Hembree, was born April 20, 1934, in Ardmore, OK. She graduated in June of 1975 in Lubbock as an L.V.N. Glenda’s career spanned many years working in Lubbock and the Paris area. She was fond of arts & crafts and very proud of her Choctaw heritage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, J. T. Phillips and Louis Gonzales, a sister, Cherry Smith Lester, and a brother, Jack Hembree.
Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Schaefer & husband Bobby of Lubbock, two granddaughters, Angela Thomas & husband Scott and Kelly Sisson & husband Brent all of Lubbock, great grandchildren, Braydon Thomas, Karington Sisson and Mason Sisson, one sister, Sandra Campbell & husband Bobby of Cooper, a special niece, Nancy Lester & husband Rufus, extended family, Tony & Angie Rogers and Brenda Jarnagin along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
