Donald Wayne McDowell, 58, of Paris, passed away at his home Friday, December 19, 2014.
Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21st, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Tiny Freelen & Pastor Kelly Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 – 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Donald Wayne, the son of Wesley Chester “Dub” & Wilma Swindell McDowell, was born December 9, 1956, in Honey Grove.
He has been employed at Huhtamaki here in Paris for the past ten years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing and being a mechanic, pretty much working on anything.
His parents and a brother, Gary Williams, preceded him in death.
Survivors include children, Donald Wayne McDowell, Jr., of Paris, Teresa McDowell & Vernon of Brookston, Anthony Massey & Brandy of Blossom and Cameron McDowell & Maddie of Paris, his wife, Juanita Lester McDowell of Paris, step-children, Randy Story & Brenda of Pattonville, Jeffrey O’Neal & Tabitha of Paris, Jessica Smith & Nick of Paris and Jay Smith of Paris, grandchildren, Tony Massey, Jr., Taylor Massey, Katelynn McDowell, Tory Jo Smith, Nicole Massey, Tyler Massey, Kenzie McDowell and Zoey McDowell, step-grandchildren, Haven Story, Taylor Story, Laranda Story, Hunter O’Neal, Landan Allen, Jesse Allen, Bailey Welch, Jayden Smith and Raegan Smith, two sisters, Linda Brown & Jackie and Shirley Collins & Kelly, one brother, Johnny McDowell & Rhoda, a great grandchild, Rider Massey along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Randy Story, Jimmy Dale Clark, Bryan Perry, Steven Perry, Jimmy Johnson and Taylor Smith. Tony Massey will serve as an honorary bearer.
