Tickets for the Polar Express were in hand for Parker Elementary second graders Gracie Armstrong, Courtney Berry, Cameron Baker, Colton McFatridge, Weston Milam, Ryder Anderson, and Serenity Ralson. In pajamas and riding the Paris Trolley in intervals throughout the day on Tuesday, students from Aaron Parker Elementary visited Principal Tammie Bates’ home, which had been transformed into a Winter Wonderland.
As students departed the trolley, otherwise known as the Polar Express, they were greeted by elves. Strolling down a snowy lane, they passed a large gingerbread house surrounded by giant lollipops, gumdrops, gingerbread men, and toys. Further on an electric train set was set up and running in front of a Christmas tree full of wrapped packages.
Santa’s helpers handed out jingle bells as the youngsters entered Santa’s hut. After taking turns telling Santa Claus what they wanted for Christmas, students were given hot coco and cookies as they waited to return on the Polar Express.
