Lloyd Palmer (2)Lloyd Palmer passed away peacefully January 2, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born in Caviness, TX, north of Paris, on March 19, 1926. He was reared, and preceded in death, by his maternal Uncle and Aunt, Thomas B. and Edna Palmer. Graduated from Chicota High School 1944. He volunteered for the Navy on his 18th birthday and in June 1944 began serving in WWII in the Pacific Theater and was recalled to service again during the Korean Crisis receiving 3 honorable discharges for his service.

His professional life began as a Railroad Switchman, before becoming a General Contractor and Building Inspector with the City of Dallas, from which he retired before moving back to Lamar County. His true passion was construction which he continued after his retirement.

He married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Belle Chadwick, on June 21, 1947. They shared 67 wonderful years together.  He is survived by his wife Bonnie, son Tom & daughter-in-law, Wanda, daughter Karen & son-in-law Les. Also, Grandsons Matthew, Chris and Andrew Palmer along with Grandson Glenn Garey & wife Stephanie, Granddaughters Alyssa & husband Brady Minor and Rachael & husband Tim Jirrels. Great-grandchildren Alexis and Eli.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 10, 2015 in the Chicota Baptist Church.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Drs. Shafiq, McClemore and Troutt for their guiding medical care. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Chicota Baptist Church, Chicota, TX.

Perry Don Roden, 58, of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Perry was born on January 14, 1956 in Colorado a son of Charles Finley and Barbara Virginia Moore Roden.

He is survived by a sister Kim Doyal of Terrell, brother Charlie Roden of Seattle, Washington, and 2 daughters Amber & Crystal.

Memorial services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 10, 2015 in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Pat Cooper officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.fry-gibbs.com.
