Lamar Electric works hard to keep the power on for its customers, but severe weather can sometimes put us in the dark.
Friday, Lamar Electric held a meeting with their employees to ensure the proper preparations have taken place in the event Lamar, Delta, and Red River counties could experience some bad weather late Saturday night into Sunday.
Director of Communications Dena Beason at Lamar Electric stated, “Lamar has H&H contractors on standby, we also have names and numbers of other contractors to call if need be, crews have checked supplies and ensured there trucks have extra equipment on hand and in the warehouse, the office has made preparations as well. The ladies will be working in shifts answering the phones and questions you may have. Remember you can also report an outage by the automated system or by texting (if you have signed up) your outage to 55050. Also, updates will be posted on our Facebook page and website www.lamarelectric.coop.”
