North Lamar students at Stone Middle School competed in the 2015 Stone Science Fair on Tuesday, January 13.
Four students in each grade were named winners and will go on to compete at the Region VIII Science Fair in Pittsburg, Texas, on February 10.
Winners are:
6th grade: (pictured right) 1st place – Emma Fowler (First one up is a rotten egg), 2nd place – Emma Doyal (Medicine vs. Pacemaker), 3rd place – Ashley Trenchard (Does Dr. Pepper and Coke cause bone loss), and 4th place – Keely Mahon (Does God make you honest).
7th grade: 1st place – Colleen Dawson (Acidic or Alkaline), 2nd place – Jerika Johnson (The color of houses and carbon footprint), 3rd place – Laney Young (No germy toothbrushes), and 4th place – Reese Mobley (Caliber B & B).
8th grade: 1st place – Sayek Shafiq (The effect of CO2 on temperature), 2nd place –
Allison Bright (Radiation in your home), 3rd place – Parker Freeman (Can vision change what we hear), and 4th place – Teagan Holley (CSI: Can you predict the splatter).
