NL School BoardTexas children benefit every day from the tireless work and countless hours dedicated by a group of men and women in communities across the state.  These public servants are elected to serve by local constituents, dedicated and willing advocates who serve our children and public schools, and receive no compensation for their efforts. These men and women are the school board members of Texas.

“Even though we are making a special effort in January to show appreciation to our board members, we realize their many contributions reflect a year-round commitment.  Our school board members generously give of themselves to ensure that decisions directly affecting our school are representative of this community,” said North Lamar ISD Superintendent John McCullough

“Board members shoulder critical responsibilities and often make difficult choices.  Their ultimate goal is always focused on the future success of the children in our district,” McCullough said.  “North Lamar is enriched by the contributions of this team who are a crucial link between the community and classroom.”

Board members serving North Lamar ISD are: Paul Drake, who was elected in May of 2001 and currently serves as board president.  He is a North Lamar graduate and is the general superintendent at Richard Drake Construction Company.

Tim Stone was elected May 2013 and serves as vice-president of the board.  He is a graduate of Texas A&M University and is area sales manager for Martin Marietta Materials, Inc.

In her sixth year on the board is Amy Stephens who currently serves as board secretary. Stephens is a graduate of East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University-Commerce) and is owner/agent of Amy Stephens Insurance and owner of Signature Home Health and Waterford Hospice.

Elected in May of 2013 is Kyle Coston.  Coston is a NLHS graduate and plant manager for Coston & Son Ready Mix.

Dr. Janice Gibbons was elected to the board in May 2014.  She graduated from Texas A&M University and the University of South Carolina and is a pediatrician in the Paris community.

Stephen “Red” Holmes was elected to the board in May of 2014.  He is a graduate of Paris Junior College and retired from the Paris Police Department as a Detective Sergeant with 28 years of service to the community.

The newest member of the board, Kristi Trammell, was appointed to fill the vacant position of Dave Osborne in the fall of September 2014.  She is a graduate of University of Texas at Tyler.

Join North Lamar ISD in thanking these dedicated volunteers for their efforts to make a difference and their unfailing commitment to the continued success of Lamar County students now and in the future.
