Ora Lou Hollingsworth, 102, of Paris, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at The Home Place in Paris, TX.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22nd, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Hollingsworth officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Friday, June 21st at the funeral home. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 25th, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Wichita, KS.
Mrs. Hollingsworth, the daughter of Walter M. & Effie Lou Bolin Pittman, was born Dec. 10, 1910, in Royce City, TX. She married Judge Cecil Hollingsworth on Jan. 10, 1933, building forty-six years of family & memories before his death on May 24, 1979. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Olin Pittman, when he was two and one half years of age, and a son-in-law, Marvin Rumbo.
Ora was a homemaker until World War II, when she began her career as a salesclerk at Montgomery Ward in Wichita, KS in the men’s clothing department. Later she worked in several positions in retail. After the war, she and her husband owned and operated several businesses in Eldorado, Oklahoma.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Paris.
Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Rumbo Julian & husband Joe of Paris, a son, Jim Hollingsworth & wife Carolyn of Paris, six grandchildren, Cecil Rumbo of Paris, Donna Rubin of Birmingham, AL, Jim Rumbo of Phoenix, AZ, Mary Henry of Richardson, TX, Brian Hollingsworth of Colorado, Springs, CO and Lori Hollingsworth Koontz of Wichita, KS, ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, a cousin, Bobbye Black of Brenham, TX along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend appreciation to The Home Place and its staff for the love and care given to their loved one.
