On Friday, January 23, 2015, Paris Regional Medical Center celebrated the one year anniversary of the incredible da Vinci Robot.
In the past year, PRMC has performed 391 cases with da Vinci Surgical System.
When the robot arrived last year, PRMC held a naming contest. The winning class was from Bailey Intermediate, who chose the name “ROBODOC.” The students were able to visit the robot at PRMC.

There are nine physicians on staff that use the da Vinci, mainly OB/GYNs and General Surgeons. Including: Dr. Tuesday Chadwick, Dr. Walker Putnam, Dr. Cliff Wilkerson, Dr. Tracy Pipkin, Dr. Mary Gail Miesch, Dr. Fred Williams, Dr. Michael Brown, Dr. Mark Campbell.
The da Vinci “robot” allows surgeons to perform routine and complex surgeries using just a few small incisions. The da Vinci’s tiny instruments and extremely precise maneuvers enable surgeons to provide patients less invasive surgeries and help speed up their healing time.
Procedures surgeons perform at PRMC with the da Vinci robot include gallbladder removal, hysterectomies and other gynecological surgeries.
