RenoOn Saturday January 10th, 2015 Reno Police was notified by Lamar County dispatch that an agency in Mississippi had run the tag on a stolen camper that was reported stolen out of Reno in November, 2014.

On November 12th, 2014 Reno Police took a report of a stolen camper that was taken from a local storage facility. The case was released to Lamar County Crime Stoppers soon after the case was reported in hopes of getting tips from the community, but no leads came out of the effort.

In December, just before the holiday period, Reno Police also took a report of a stolen license plate that was removed from a different camper, but of similar description of the one previously reported. The owner of that license plate was made aware of the theft after he received a notice of a toll bill from a location in Florida which he had never visited. During that investigation, it was discovered the stolen plate was being displayed on the camper that matched the description of the one previously reported on November 12th.

On January 10th, an officer with Pass Christian Police Department in Mississippi responded to a call at a RV park where stolen property was located. During that investigation, the stolen license plate was ran which led police to check the numbers on the camper. It was determined the camper was the one that was reported stolen in November by Reno Police.

Reno Police since have been working with investigators from Pass Christian Police Department. Their efforts have led Reno Police to two suspects involved in the theft of the camper and the stolen license plate.

Because of the discovery and information gathered by authorities in Mississippi, felony theft warrants were issued for the suspects identified as Jesse Wright Olson and Melissa Lea Olson of Canton, Texas. Those warrants were sent to Harrison County, Mississippi and served while they are incarcerated and awaiting extradition back to Texas.
