Ongie V. Fox, 100, of Paris passed away February 6, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday February 9, 2015 in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery with Masonic Services by Paris Masonic Lodge # 27. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
He was born on October 18, 1914 in Maxey, Texas a son of Jessie Odis and Willie Lea Caine Fox. Mr. Fox was a retired mechanic, a member of Kiwanis Club, Oddfellows, and of First Baptist Church. He was a member of Paris Masonic Lodge # 27 for over 65 yrs., LaFayette Chapter # 48 over 50 yrs., LaFayette Council # 34 over 50 yrs., Paris Commandery # 9 over 50yrs, Dallas Scottish Rite over 50 yrs and was a member of Hella Shrine.
On February 25, 1939 he married Lois Exa Merritt in Paris, Texas. She preceded him in death on Feb. 9, 2000. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother Edward B. Fox, and a great nephew Jackie Dearborn Jr..
Survivors include his son Billy Fox and spouse Tamara Martel Fox; niece Anne Fox Dearborn and husband Jackie Dearborn; great niece Tambra Dearborn; great-great nephews Jeremy Dearborn and Jacob Dearborn; sisters and brother-law Earline Stringer, Dorothy Gandy and husband Irving and Ray Merritt and wife Helen; host of other nieces and nephews from the Merritt family.
Mildred Louise “Mickie” Inge Ground, 89, of Paris, passed away Thursday, February 05, 2015, at her home.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Officiating will be Reverend Ken Cannon. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time, at the funeral home.
Mickie was born October 9, 1925 in Hopewell, Virginia to George Braxton Inge and Mary Lou Rivenbark Inge. She married Edgar Ray Ground on September 5, 1950 at the First Baptist Church in Hopewell, Virginia and shortly thereafter, they moved to DeSoto, Texas to start their married life. She was a member of Hampton Road Baptist Church in DeSoto for 24 years and First Baptist Church in Paris for 40 years and was an active member of the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU). Mickie was a proud, lifetime member of The Gideons International Auxiliary. For 37 years she assisted her husband with The Living Memorial Bible Program and served The Paris Gideon Camp by receiving and processing all mail and phone-in orders for the purchase of Bibles through the program. She was also a member of The Paris Women’s Study Club, the McCuistion Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and the Phebe Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edgar Ray in 2006, her parents, one brother, George Thomas “Buddy” Inge and one nephew, Monty Randolph Ground.
She is survived by her beloved children, Mark Andrew Ground & wife Rhonda of Paris and Leslie Joanna Ground Harris & husband Craig of Robinson; one grandson, Braxton Matthew Harris & wife Jennifer of Seguin; one great-grandson, Brooks Joseph Harris of Seguin; three nieces, Alisha Ground Worley & husband Danny of Waco, Ramona Ground Bates & husband Jamie of Houston and Carmen Inge Wilson & husband Charles of Mechanicsville, VA; one brother-in-law, Randall Ground & wife Audra of Waco, along with a plethora of dear cousins and friends. Casket bearers will be Craig Harris, Braxton Harris, James Richard Nichols, Bob Inge, Winfred Nash, Gene Anderson, Tad Eudy and Steve Bellene. Honorary casket bearers will be Julie Crews, Benjamin Holland, Bill & Corrine Brooks, Geraldine Birdwell, Alva Lee Jordan, Patsy Davis & members of the Phebe Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church—Paris. Jackie Ray Emeyabbi, 57, of Paris, passed away Friday, February 06, 2015, at his home while surrounded by his family.
The family will receive friends at Bright-Holland Funeral Home from 6 – 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9th.
Jackie, the son of Ervin Lee Emeyabbi and Lillie Fay Tigue Emeyabbi, was born Jan. 29, 1958, in Paris.
He worked twenty-four years at Rodgers-Wade. He then began working at Turner Pipe where he worked for one year before his health failed.
Jackie enjoyed drag racing and spending time at the drag strip when he was younger. He was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Emeyabbi, his mother, Fay Hines, a brother, Ervin “Junior” Emeyabbi and numerous grandchildren.
Survivor include his wife, Sharon, whom he married on April 2, 1996, children, Danny Ray Emeyabbi & Christy Carroll of Paris, Velvet Wilson of Paris, James Talley & Marty Williams of Antlers, OK, Brandy Miller & husband Jason of Paris and Christal Cashion & husband Gene, Jr. of Paris, grandchildren, Ryan Ray Emeyabbi, Rielyn Brook Emeyabbi, Braelyn Nicole Emeyabbi, Neveah Faith Wilson, Brice Christopher Talley, Haylee Ray Miller and Walter Floyd Miller, brothers, Ernie Emeyabbi & wife Karen of Paris, Wayne Emeyabbi & wife Pearl of McKinney and Ervin Wally Brown of London, England, a sister, Faye Marie Emeyabbi of Paris, along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
