S. NicholsonStephen Taylor Nicholson, 7 months, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13th, at Calvary Chapel, 3100 Clarksville Street, Paris, TX 75460. Private graveside services will follow with Rev. Tony Vanderwilt & Rev. Tom Calk officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home.

Stephen Taylor, the son of Stephen A. Nicholson & Alyssa R. Kear, was born December 3, 2012, in Dallas.

Born at 28 weeks he had extremely under developed lungs, causing him to be hospitalized his whole life. From day one his personality got the best of his dad and mom. Being curious was an understatement for him, he always had this mischievous look on his face as if he were thinking about what he could do next to scare his nurses. On March 5th, 2013, he underwent a tracheotomy surgery allowing them to be able to remove the tubes in mouth that helped him breathe, after that we got to see the most beautiful smile in the world. Although it wasn’t very often he was still one of the happiest babies having around the clock attention was something he craved. A couple months passed and he was doing great! We almost had the chance to bring him home. But then we started to see more of what we called “bad spells”, he was getting too big for his lungs. The last couple months of his life he began to worsen, we began to notice he was very quickly become unhappy and tired. It got to where they had to sedate him to allow his lungs to function as efficiently as possible. On July 9, 2013 he had one last “bad spell”, he went to join the Lord later that evening.

Survivors include his parents, grandparents; Kevin Kear, LeAnne Lindsey and Deanna & Scott Nicholson, great grandparents; Carolyn Nicholson, Janet Pasley, Joyce Brunson, Mr. & Mrs. William B. Kear, Don & Gail Nicholson and William Ross Thompson, aunts & uncles; Lindsey Temporal, Emily Kear, Daniel Nicholson, Nicholas Kear, Jacob Kear and Keith Temporal.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made at Liberty National Bank to raise funds for a plaque in Stephen’s memory that will be placed on the Tree of Care in the Presbyterian Hospital Neonatal I. C. U.
