Paris Optical, located on the east side of the plaza, has undergone big changes recently. It has been an established eye care practice since the early 1970’s, but has now been expanded and improved to better serve the local community.
Paris Optical originally only occupied 15 East Plaza, which is the original American National Bank building, built in 1907. Recently, the owners purchased the adjacent Aikin building at 23 East Plaza. The two buildings are now connected by a unique interior bricked archway. .
The doctors, Colton and Katie Wicks, wanted to restore the building to give it modern touches but keep the original historic feel that is crucial to preserving the history of such an iconic part of downtown Paris. For design assistance, the doctors/owners employed the services of an optical design company from Philadelphia. The lighting is unique to the eye care industry and is designed to enhance the patient’s experience when selecting a frame. Extra attention was given to every aspect of the patients’ experience. Paris Optical now offers a wider selection and premium service.
Paris Optical has a great new eyewear selection as well. Paris Optical still carries popular brands such as Michael Kors, Coach, RayBan, and Costa del Mar sunglasses but has expanded their selection to include Valentino, English Laundry, LaCoste, Fossil and Polo Ralph Lauren.
Paris Optical will be holding a Grand Opening on Thursday, March 5th from 6:00 to 7:00pm. There will be giveaways and drinks and appetizers will be served.
Thursday, March 5th is also Explore Downtown First Thursday when downtown businesses will stay open until 8pm.
