Daniel Eugene Weist, 55, of Bonham, passed away at 6:09 AM, Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Paris Regional Medical Center. A memorial service is set for 6:30 PM, Wednesday evening, July 17, 2013 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Gustin officiating. The family will receive friends in the foyer of the chapel beginning at 5:30 PM until service time on Wednesday. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Daniel was born May 30, 1958 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Weldon Eugene and Glynes Jean Nelson Weist. He graduated from Bolsa Grande High School in Garden Grove, California and was employed as a forklift operator at Kimberly-Clark Corporation in Paris. He married Rebecca Lynn Branson on May 26, 2013 in Paris.
Mr. Weist is survived by his wife, Becky Weist; three children, Shawna Spradlin and husband, James, Nicholas Weist and Lauren Thacker, and Caryl Shores and husband, Spencer; five grandchildren, Kari, Kameron, Kaylie, Rickey, Jr. and Ethan Spradlin; his mother, Glynes Benfield; his maternal grandmother, Mabel Nelson; five siblings, Kaye Lynn Weist, Paula Vaughn, Mike Gustin, Pam Tuttle, and Cindy Weist; the mother of his children, Tammi Weist; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and three grandparents.
