Volunteers, businesses, and organizations who contributed to the 2015 United Way of Lamar County campaign were honored Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Paris Junior College, Ballroom.
Many contributors were thanked and special honors presented. These included awards for Volunteerism, Leadership and Workplace giving. According to Board of Directors, Stephen Gerrald, Edward Jones Investments, “Each year we honor those who demonstrate a commitment to our United Way of Lamar County and its mission.”

One of the top distinctions of the luncheon was the “Golden Eagle Award”, presented to Turner Industries for their extraordinary contributions to the United Way. Through the generosity of their employees, giving increased by an amazing 36% over last year to total $206,981.
This has been a record breaking year for the United Way Annual Campaign. Our top workplace campaigns have shown incredible increases over previous year’s contributions, making this the largest Annual Campaign in United Way of Lamar County History. We are proud to announce pledges for the 2015 Annual Campaign total more than $741,085!!!
The United Way of Lamar County provides health and human services through community initiatives and funding more than 22 local programs. Its targeted need areas include engaging youth, meeting basic needs, helping children succeed and promoting self-sufficiency. “Live United” is part of the United Way’s mission of giving, advocating, and volunteering to produce lasting change in the community and advance the common good.
