Vivian Rebecca Day, 84, of Pattonville passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at her home.

Private graveside services were conducted on Friday at Meadowbrook Gardens with Bro. David Ballard & Stan Shoemake officiating. Bright-Holland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Feb. 1, 1929, to Luthur & Laura Ethel Pettit. She was the youngest of five children. Vivian graduated from Deport High School class of 1946. She married James Day on June 23, 1946, in Bogata, and together they had two children. She worked at the Pattonville Post Office for 13 years; retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James on July 7, 1998, her son, Jimmy Dale Day on Oct. 4, 2000, a grandson, Tomas Sawyer, brothers; JR Pettit, Dixie Pettit and Grady Pettit and a sister, Aleene Floyd.

Survivors include her daughter, Velmajean and husband Stan Shoemake of Pattonville, a very special granddaughter, Victoria Sawyer of Pattonville, four other grandchildren, Robert Sawyer of Pattonville, Summer Goodin of Paris, James Day of Paris and Brandi Day of Sulphur Springs, four great grandchildren; Rebecca Goodin and George Merrill of Paris and Aysha and Daylee Day of Sulphur Springs.

stonePNAileen Morrison Stone, 96, of Paris, died at 8:40 AM, Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Sterling House Assisted Living Center.  A graveside service is set for 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Bill Felts officiating.  The family will greet friends from 10:30 AM Saturday until service time on Saturday at the cemetery.  Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Stone was born in Lamar County on May 30, 1917 to Henry Creed and Essie Margraves Morrison.  She married Joe Bob Stone October 30, 1948 in Paris.  He died February 2, 2009.

Mrs. Stone worked at the F.W. Woolworth store and the S & H Green Stamp Redemption Center here in Paris for many years prior to her retirement.  She was a member of East Paris Baptist Church.

Mrs. Stone is survived by two children, Norma Upchurch and husband, Wayne of Paris and Jimmy Stone and wife, Jan of Fort Worth; five grandchildren, Clint Upchurch and wife, Anna of Paris, Randy Upchurch and wife, Marsha of Blossom, Dale Upchurch of the East Post Oak Community, Lisa Coleman and husband, Neal of Rice, and Robert Stone of Fort Worth; nine great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Morrison of Louisiana and Bobby Morrison of Paris; and three sisters, Mollie Ausmus of Paris, Ruth Vardilos of Houston, and Gearldine Rowe of Paris.  She was preceded in death by siblings, Creed Morrison, J.D. Morrison, Datherine Straub, and Frankie Lucky.
