Pharmacy Technician is a comprehensive course that will prepare you to enter the pharmacy field and to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board PTCB exam. The class meets Monday and Wednesdays, from 6 to 9:30 p.m., March 2-April 27.
Welcome to the World of Computers is offered from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays, March 2-9. The course is designed for the person with limited computer skills. Students will learn basic computer tasks, keyboard techniques, computer lingo and how to navigate the Internet.
The Heartsaver First Aid CPR & AED (automated external defibrillator) class teaches basic first aid and CPR/AED procedures, including first aid skills recommended by the Occupational Safety and Health Agency, to those with a duty to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency. The course meets Tuesday and Wednesday, March 3-4, 5:30-9 p.m.
The Dental Assistant class prepares students for entry-level positions in one of the fastest growing health care positions: dental assisting. The class meets Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 6 to 9:30 p.m., from March 3-May 21.
Clinical Medical Assistant program will train students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical responsibilities of a medical office. The class meets Saturdays, March 7-Aug. 1, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Initial Basic Life Support class on lifesaving skills for respiratory and cardiac emergencies will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 7. The American Heart Association certifies the class.
Kids Hurt Too, a seminar designed to help parents understand their children’s needs throughout the process of a divorce, is offered Saturday, March 7, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
A Nurse Aide class will be offered from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, March 23-April 13, and the clinical meets Mondays-Wednesdays, April 14-28 from 5:30 to 11:30 a.m. The class offers preparation for entry level nursing assistants.
The Update on Nursing Care of the Peritoneal Dialysis Patient is eligible to provide nursing contact hours upon successful completion. The course will be held Friday, March 20 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 4 p.m.
Child Development Associate offers half online and half face-to-face training. After successful completion of this course, the individual must complete a direct assessment package and request a verification site visit. The CDA credential will be awarded upon completion of a successful site evaluation and exam. The course will meet Mondays from 6 to 10 p.m., March 23-July 6.
Medication Administration instructs in preparation and administration of designated medications by non-licensed nursing personnel employed in licensed health care agencies including the responsibilities associated with such administration. The course will be held from 12 to 4 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays, March 23-July 10.
QuickBooks Level 2 will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesdays, March 24-April 7. Learn tracking and selling inventory, errors and refunds, working with balance sheet accounts and handling payroll requirements.
Basic Life Support Recertification for CPR certified cardholders is offered from 8 a.m. to noon, Friday, March 27. The American Heart Association certifies the class.
Medication Aide Update will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, March 27. The course fulfills Texas Department of Health specifications on annual renewal requirement. Med Aides should take this course one month before their certification card expires.
Physical Therapy Technician program is designed to introduce students to the physical therapy profession and to train them for an entry-level position. The class meets March 30-May 13, Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
