The PJC Dragons beat Panola College 11-7 on Saturday at Paris behind Ryan Robertson, who went 2-4.
He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.
Chris Muller recorded the win for Paris Dragons even though he allowed five runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered seven hits.
Panola College jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second. Panola College’s threat began with a single by Jordan Gore. A single by Brett Boudreaux then moved Gore from first to third. #4 Morales doubled, bringing home Gore and Boudreaux. Panola College pushed more runs across when #4 Morales scored on an RBI single by #12 Cintron.
The game’s last lead went to Paris Dragons thanks to a fourth inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on a two-run single by Ryan Robertson.
Paris Dragons scored two runs in the fifth inning, and then followed it up with two more in the seventh. In the fifth, Paris Dragons scored on a walk by Trey Mound, plating Garret Dodd.
Two runs in the bottom of the fifth helped Panola College close its deficit to 7-5. An error and a fielder’s choice triggered Panola College’s comeback. Finally, Muller induced an inning-ending ground out from #4 Morales.
Paris Dragons got one-run rallies in the eighth inning and the ninth. In the eighth, Paris Dragons scored on an RBI single by Logan Sepanek, scoring Rueben Rodriguez.
After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the ninth, Panola College faced just a 11-7 deficit. A passed ball and an RBI double by Gore fueled Panola College’s comeback. Paris Dragons’ Austin McDaniel induced a Boudreaux strike out to close things out.
