solice001Larry Joseph Solice pastor, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather was born on March 14, 1918 and passed away on March 2, 2015. Survivors include his three children, Virginia Williams, Gloria Naul and Larry Wayne Solice, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Oma Lee Solice.

Larry accepted Christ as his personal Savior on July 6, 1950 and surrendered to preach on June 8, 1952. He had a fervent faith that was evident in every part of his life. Larry will always be remembered for his love of people, and his tireless efforts to tell everyone he met about the unconditional love of Jesus Christ.

During his ministry, Rev. Solice started Mt. Heights Baptist Church in Mansfield, Louisiana. Additionally, he pastored Ferry Lake Baptist Church in Oil City, Louisiana; Myra Baptist Church in Myra, Louisiana; and First Baptist Church, Roxton, Texas ; and the following churches in the Paris, Texas area: Calvary Baptist Church (now Southside Baptist); Emberson Baptist Church; and Fulbright Baptist Church. Rev Solice also served for a number of years as chaplain to the hospitals in Paris as well as chaplain of the Paris Police Department. After retirement, Bro. Solice served as interim at many churches in the Paris area.

His service will be at Southside Baptist Church in Paris, Texas on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. with the interment at Evergreen Cemetery. The viewing will take place immediately preceding the service starting at 1:00 P.M.
