After Tuesday night’s win at the final buzzer to beat the Kilgore bulldogs 51-49, the undefeated Paris High Wildcats will advance to the regional tournament for the first time since 2009.
The 35-0 Wildcats will play Friday night at 6pm at the Texas A&M-Commerce Fieldhouse.
The boys varsity basketball team will face the winner of tonight’s all-Dallas regional quarterfinal between Madison and Lincoln. The Madison-Lincoln quarterfinal was scheduled to be played Wednesday but delayed to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Ellis Fieldhouse in Dallas due to the latest round of weather storms to hit North Texas. Madison was the District 11 champion, but their only district loss was to No. 4 seed Lincoln.
If the Wildcats can pull off yet another win on Friday night, they will move into Saturday’s Region 2-4A Championship with a ticket on the line to the next week’s state tournament in San Antonio.
Tickets to Friday’s semifinals are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Paris will be the designated home team and will sit on the north side bleachers.
