Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Monday as Paris Dragons outscored BPCC 14-10.
The teams combined for 26 hits, including eight extra base hits.
Garrett Moon racked up five RBIs on four hits for Paris Dragons. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the first, fourth, and fifth innings.
Nathan Hickey pitched lights out for Paris Dragons. Hickey gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.
Chris Muller got the win for Paris Dragons despite allowing six runs over 5 1/3 innings. He struck out two, walked five and surrendered three hits.
Paris Dragons never trailed after scoring four runs in the first on a three-run double by Garrett Moon and a sacrifice fly by Russel Hughes.
Paris Dragons added three more runs in the top of the second. The inning got off to a hot start when Logan Sepanek singled, scoring Trey Mound. That was followed up by Garrett Moon’s single, bringing home Garret Dodd.
Paris Dragons pushed one run across in each of the fourth, sixth and eighth. In the fourth, Paris Dragons scored on an RBI double by Garrett Moon, scoring Sepanek.
After pushing across one run in the bottom of the fourth, BPCC faced just a 8-1 deficit. A solo home run by #5 Herrera sparked BPCC’s rally. The BPCC threat came to an end when Muller finally got #9 Brooks to.
Paris Dragons built upon its lead with four runs in the fifth. Ryan Robertson singled, bringing home Blake Seaton to start the inning. That was followed up by Dodd’s single, plating Jake Oden and Ryan Robertson.
One run in the bottom of the fifth helped BPCC close its deficit to 12-2. A passed ball set off BPCC rally. Finally, Muller got #19 Goodwin to ground out to end the threat.
BPCC scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut its deficit to seven. A hit by pitch, a two-run error, and fueled BPCC’s comeback. Finally, Austin McDaniel induced an inning-ending fly out from #7 Rodriguez.
After pushing across three runs in the bottom of the seventh, BPCC faced just a 13-9 deficit. A walk by #4 Cole and a two-run single by #3 Roy gave BPCC life. Dallas Woods ended the inning by getting #2 Langston to ground out.
One BPCC run crossed the plate in the bottom half of the eighth, making the score 14-10. A solo home run by #19 Norris set off BPCC rally. But, Hickey got #4 Cole to fly out to end the inning.
