The Paris Community Theatre has a lot happening this spring.
First, on April 7th and 8th at 6:30pm are auditions for Damn Yankees. Based on the novel The Year The Yankees Lost The Pennant by Douglass Wallop, Damn Yankees the Broadway mega-hit and winner of 7 TONY Awards including Best Musical hits it out of the park! The winning score by Adler and Ross and a devilish book by George Abbot have made this sporty musical comedy a true American classic that is great for the whole family.
PCT has also released its 2015-2016 season and is seeking directors. Directors can apply online at pctonstage.com by April 7th. Next year’s season includes: Much Ado About Nothing; Little Women; Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike; Uh-Oh Here Comes Christmas!; Defying Gravity; Love Letters; Chicago; and Children of Eden.
And tickets are now on sale for PCT’s next Off Plaza Production: Waiting for the Parade which will run April 16th-19th. Waiting for the Parade tells the story of five women and their relationships and lives during World War II.
Finally, the 2nd Annual Run for the Arts will be on May 9th at 8 AM at the Love Civic Center pavilion. This year’s event includes a 5k Colorsplash Run, a 10k timed run, and a 1 mile walk. Early bird registration (which includes a free shirt) of $25 lasts until March 31st. After that date registration is $30, but still includes a free shirt. Shirts will no longer be available after April 24th.
