Dragons jumped out to an early lead on Bossier Parish and captured a 15-1 victory on Wednesday.
The game was decided quickly as Dragons exerted its will early with 11 runs in the first three innings.
, an RBI double by Breanna Pavatt, an RBI single by Sierra Valdez, and a two-run double by Alex Cruz during the first inning fueled Dragons’ offense early.Cruz racked up five RBIs on three hits for Dragons.
Miranda Mendoza handled Bossier Parish ‘s lineup with ease, racking up five strikeouts. Mendoza allowed no earned runs on four hits and one walk over five innings.
Dragons piled on six more runs in the bottom of the third. A three-run blast by Cruz ignited the offense,, scoring Kennedy Been and Alexa Anzaldua. That was followed up by Courtney Meier‘s single, plating Arika Aranjo.
Dragons increased its lead with four runs in the fourth. Taylor Rivera started the inning with a single, plating Been and Rachel Withers. That was followed up by Pavatt’s single, bringing home Meier and Natalia Ybarra.
