PJC Dragons tops NTCC in back-and-forth affair, 7-6

PJC Dragon FirePJC Dragons and NTCC passed the lead back and forth eight times on Thursday at Paris, but in the end Paris Dragons pulled out a 7-6 win over NTCC.

PJC Dragons pulled out the win thanks to a strong eighth inning. A wild pitch scored Rueben Rodriguez to give Paris Dragons the lead for good.

Logan Sepanek racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Dragons. He homered in the first inning, singled in the fourth inning, and doubled in the sixth inning.

Brandon Dusenberry got it done on the hill on the way to a win. He allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered one hit.

Dragons closer Dallas Woods put away the final three outs to record the save.

NTCC jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. NTCC’s threat began with a single by Graham. A single by Ponce then moved Graham from first to second. Roman singled, scoring Graham. NTCC pushed more runs across when Ponce scored on an RBI single by Sommer.

PJC Dragons quickly matched NTCC’s strong inning with a four-run inning of its own in the first. Paris Dragons scored on an RBI single by Garret Dodd and a three-run home run by Sepanek.

The Dragons scored one run in each of the fourth, sixth and eighth. In the fourth, Paris Dragons scored on an RBI single by Sepanek, plating Ryan Robertson.
