Thanks to an attentive community member, Jadadrion Ford now has a new wheelchair.
Travis Jackson, an insurance agent with The Horace Mann Companies, regularly visits with area teachers. In one of his visits, he became aware of a problem Jadadrion was experiencing and decided to do something about it. The Paris High School special needs student requires a wheelchair, and the one he was using was falling apart.
“The wheelchair he had, he had grown out of,” Jackson said. “It was old and it was unstable and not safe for his daily trips on the bus. I told Jadadrion’s teachers to let me work on it.”
Jackson had an experienced medical supply technician measure and make sure the new wheelchair would be a perfect fit. Jadadrion received his gift earlier this month from Jackson and his daughter, Karley Ashmore.
The new chair “is much better, it’s all one piece, it fits him well, and he’s really happy with it,” Jackson said.
