Eight Paris High choir students returned with medals from the State Class 4A UIL Choir Solo & Ensemble Contest over the Memorial Day weekend in Pflugerville.
Gold medalists earned superior ratings on their solo performances. The group included senior Dylan Candelora, junior Quinn Dillard, and sophomores Deja Sikes and Tieren Gates. Receiving excellent ratings and silver medals were seniors Molly Jackson and Bianey Cortes along with juniors Juan Flores and Autumn Albertson.
First-year junior choir student Blane Grissom received a good rating on his solo. The entire group qualified for the state contest by receiving superior ratings on their solos that were rated difficult at the regional contest held at Texas A&M-Commerce.
The PHS choir director is Jan Blize assisted by Hunter Sitz and and accompanist Dottie Billman.
