NLHS Art Fair WinnersArtists from North Lamar High School were recognized after entering in the 2015 Paris Art Fair competition.  Overall ‘Best of Show’ from all artwork categories was Shalen Haney with her acrylic painting titled “Jeremy”.  Other North Lamar winners whose media was acrylic include Gracie Mullens who placed second and Carly McCurry-Porter and Lauren Arnold who earned Honorable Mentions.

In conjunction with the Paris Art Fair was the Paris Area Arts Alliance “Tower Power” contest in which students had to construct an Eiffel Tower in a creative and unique way. North Lamar’s art students teamed up to build their sculptures. First place winners were Kadaja McPeters and Steven Wisham-Peregrina, second place went to Shelby Spears and Hailey Stidham, and the third place team consisted of Rhett Cody, Jeremiah Guenther, and Zeke Wood.

An art exhibit and reception at NXS Gallery in Downtown Paris wrapped up the year by showcasing artwork from North Lamar artists.  On display were various works by AP art students, advanced art students, and a few art one students.

NLHS art instructor is Lena Spencer.
