Dallas PD Attack suspect previously arrested in Paris

The suspect in the attack on the Dallas Police Department has identified himself as James Boulware, from Paris. Boulware was involved in incident in Paris in May of 2013 that caused local schools to be on lock down until he was apprehended in the Dominoes parking lot on Lamar Avenue.

eParisExtra.com has not independently confirmed that Boulware is one of the suspects in the DPD attack.

The attack on DPD headquarters began at approximately 12:30am on Saturday, June 13th. An attacher in a van began shooting at officers and parked patrol cars. Later explosives were found around headquarters.

Dallas Police Department followed the van south of Dallas to a Jack-in-the Box parking lot off I-45 near Hutchins. Gunfire was exchanged between DPD officers and the suspects.

A standoff and negotiations have followed. It was during this time the suspect identified himself as James Bouware, of Paris Texas. Negotiations with the SWAT team were still underway at the time this article was published.

According to Dallas County judicial records, charges that led to his arrest in Paris were dropped in April 2014 after Boulware met court ordered conditions.
