Helen Louise Russell, 86, of Paris, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015, at Brentwood Terrace Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 22nd, at Meadowbrook Gardens with Rev. Tiny Freelen officiating. A formal visitation is not scheduled, however those wishing to pay respects may do so at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon and Monday until noon.
Mrs. Russell, the daughter of Vollie & Ethel McGee Rodgers, was born Jan. 2, 1929, in Paris.
Helen was an avid gardener, especially flowers. She was an excellent seamstress and wonderful cook.
She married Louis Russell, and he preceded her in death in 1996. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lena Parson of Paris and a brother, James David Rodgers of Paris.
Survivors include a son, Richard Russell & wife Pam of Paris, a brother, Billy Gene Rodgers & wife Brenda of Paris, five grandchildren, Felicia Booth & husband Robert of Paris, Tim Ince & wife Jennifer of Detroit, Cory Russell & wife Brandi of Midlothian, Maranda Mahon & husband Randall of Sumner and Aaron Russell & wife Kodie of Paris, eleven great grandchildren, including two special great grandchildren who were her pride & joy, Marissa “Peaches” Bates and Ethan “Booger” Goss both of Paris, Alexis, Noah & Collin of Midlothian, Keeley & Rylee of Sumner, Hannah Grace & Aaron, Jr. of Paris, Phillip and Kristen of Detroit and Conor, Garrett and Shelby of Detroit along with many nieces & nephews.

Gerald Dean Westbrook 89, of Paris, died Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are set for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 23, 2015 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. John Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 PM, Monday evening at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Dean was born May 26, 1926 in the Glory Community of Lamar County, Texas to Coy and Mittie Hunter Westbrook. He married Emma Lorene Nix on July 19, 1952 in Weatherford, Texas. She died December 11, 2006. He was retired after 32 years from General Motors in Arlington, Texas. He served his country in the US Army during World War II. He was a member of Ramseur Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Elaine Manns and husband, Steve of Mansfield, Texas; and two grandsons, Chad Manns of Temple, Texas and Ryan Manns of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Thomas and Robert Westbrook.
Pallbearers will be Melvin White, Brazos White, Rick Jordan, Dickie Davis, Tony Watkins, and Doug Johnson.
