Garland Everett Lamb, 76, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at his home in Paris, Texas. He was born on May 30, 1939 in Marvin, Texas to Everett and Eva Belle Nance Lamb.
Garland grew up in the Shady Grove area near Paris, Texas. He attended East Lamar High School and graduated from Paris High School in Paris, Texas in 1957. After high school, he attended Paris Junior College and the University of Texas at Arlington. He was a local home builder for many years, co-owned Kings Sports and Awards and owned several other businesses.
Garland married Ann Preston in 1960 in Paris. They were happily married for 54 years. Garland was a deacon and member of Springlake Baptist Church for many years and was a member of East Paris Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, coin collecting, sports and spending time with his family.
Garland is survived by his wife, Ann Preston Lamb of Paris; his daughters, Lisa Homann and husband, Erwin of Montgomery, Texas: Kristi Hubbard and husband, Ron of Coppell, Texas and son, Derek Lamb and wife, Sandy, of Paris; his grandchildren, Daniel Homann, Andrew Homann, Jarrett Hubbard, Kate Hubbard, Bethany Hubbard, Zachery Lamb and Chase Lamb. He is also survived by his brother, Phillip Lamb and wife, Marion, of Paris and uncle, Elbert Nance and wife Nancy of Lamar County, Texas and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Garland was preceded in death by his father, Everett Lamb and mother, Eva Belle Lamb.
A funeral service will be held at East Paris Baptist Church, 725 N. Collegiate Drive, Paris, Texas on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home at 730 Clarksville, Paris, Texas on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Burial will follow the funeral at Meadowbrook Cemetery, Paris, TX.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Homann, Andrew Homman, Jarrett Hubbard, Zachery Lamb, Chase Lamb, Dustin Lamb and Joshua Lamb.
