Paris Police Officers received information regarding a load of methamphetamine that might be traveling through the Paris area On July 5th around 11 PM.
Officers spotted the truck tractor semi-trailer traveling east around 11:24 PM in the 3900 block of Bonham Street.
The TTST did not exit to the loop and continued eastbound on Bonham Street. The vehicle was stopped in the 1800 block of Bonham for violation of the local through truck traffic ordinance.

The driver of the truck, Ramon Morales Alcaraz, 45 of Wildomar, California gave written consent for a search of the vehicle and contents.
The tractor-trailer was taken to a local loading dock where the contents of the trailer, mostly produce, was unloaded and searched. A total of forty seven (47) packages (which weighed a total of 40 kilograms) were found hidden in pallets of lettuce and carrots. Alcaraz was placed under arrest for delivery of methamphetamine over 400 grams and transported to the city jail.
The street value of the meth load is estimated at around 4 million dollars. Federal authorities were contacted to assist in the investigation. Alcaraz remains in the Lamar County Jail under a $500,000.00 bond.
As this case is still under investigation, no other statements regarding the investigation will be made at this time.
