The first regular monthly board meeting of the Paris Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) under the new chair, Richard Manning, and new member Ray Banks is on Tuesday, July 14th at 4pm.
At a special meeting last week to elect new officers, Michael Glatfelter disrupted the meeting right after it began, resulting in local police being called.
Mr. Glatfelter was recently appointed to the Historical Commission and elected its chair. His position on that commission has come under fire and it is on the Paris City Council agenda on Monday night to consider removing him.
The PEDC board meeting on Tuesday will hopefully be a calm one. On the agenda is discussion and possible action on City Attorney services; hiring J.C. Darnell for PEDC data backups; converting to a new website and approving payment to Jazzy Frog Web Design; and discussion and possible action on PEDC additional staff positions.
The PEDC board will also review, discuss and possibly take action on the Dawson Follow up Report. These refers to Steve Dawson who the former board met with in June to discuss the possibility to hire him for a second forensic audit. However, the board voted not to pursue another investigation.
