Christine Sanders Mashburn, 88, of the Howland Community, died at 5:02 PM, Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the Heritage House of Paris. Funeral services are set for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Sanders and Rev. Jim Semple officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Christine was born one of eight children to Oran “Bud” and Annie Ola Randell Sanders. She married Joe Denton Mashburn on December 21, 1946 in Atlas, Texas. Mrs. Mashburn was a homemaker and longtime member of the Howland Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Denton Mashburn; her daughter, Anna Kay Zant; a daughter-in-law, Judy King Mashburn; six grandchildren, Jody Hostetler and husband, Joe Neal, Kristi Townes and husband, Michael, Donna Boswell, Kenda Felker and husband, James, all of Howland, Kara Collard and husband, Brandon of Emberson, and David Zant and wife, Lindsay of Paris; eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; and her caregivers, Ginger Winton and Connie Ausmus. She was preceded by her sons, David Glenn Mashburn and Joe Donald Mashburn; and seven siblings, June Sanders, Pete Sanders, Tom Sanders, John Sanders, Mabel Bell Nash, Edna Sanders, and Linda Glenn.
Pallbearers will be Joe Neal Hostetler, Michael Townes, James Felker, Brandon Collard, David Zant, Matthew Cannada, Monty Cannada, and Rickey Glenn. Honorary pallbearers are William “Bubba” Justiss, Jimmy Don Preston, Tommy Alspaugh, and T.V. Roberts, Jr.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Roxton Volunteer Fire Department, the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, or the Breast Cancer Association.
