Roy Lewis Schoenig 63, of Honey Grove, Texas, died at 7:20 AM, Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Methodist Hospital in Dallas. Funeral services are set for 10:30 AM, Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Terry Paul Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 PM, Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home in Paris has charge of the arrangements.
Roy was born July 8, 1952 in Queens, New York to Karl S. and Frances Valot Schoenig. He owned and operated a residential concrete contracting business in the Dallas area for many years. He more recently was a cattle rancher in Fannin County. Mr. Schoenig married Debra Jane Brown on October 5, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Schoenig; four children, Heather Marie Biehl and husband, Jeff, Jason Cody Schoenig, Chad Ryan Schoenig and wife, Brandi, and Stacey Joleen Brown; eight grandchildren, Jack and Lauren Biehl, Andrew and Ashley Layton, Anthena Childers, Kevin and Keith Kelsey, and Dylan Williams; one brother, Charles William Schoenig and wife, Barbara; nieces and nephews, Michele Basilieo, Tammy Punger, Karrie Martines, Laurie Jarnagin, Kelly Curry, Johnny Ingram, and Patrick and Anneliese Brown; his in-laws, Betty and Ray Richardson; and his sister-in-law, Valerie Stevinson and husband, Dennis. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Cody Schoenig, Charlie Schoenig, Chad Schoenig, Jeff Biehl, Brandon Ruez, Casey Walton, and Kevin Kelsey.
The family requests that all who knew Roy consider organ donation. He was blessed with several more years of life due to an organ donor’s generosity of a liver. Roy Keith Spears, 49 of Paris, passed away Friday, August 7, 2015.
A memorial service has been set for Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Millsap officiating.
He is survived by his sisters, Martha Wyant and husband Glenn, Crystal Spears; several nieces, nephews and cousins; aunt and uncle, Fonda and Johnny King. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Martha Spears; brother, Earnest Spears; sister, Kimmy Spears.
