Red River County Crime Stoppers Chairman Sally Wright announced the 26th Annual Ranch Rodeo will be held, Saturday, October 10 at the Paris Rodeo and Horse Club Arena. T
he rodeo starts at 7:00 PM. This year no admission fee will be charged, the event is free for everyone.
The Board of Directors of Lamar –Red River County Crime Stoppers wishes to thank the community for their support the past 25 years. Donations will be accepted and will be greatly appreciated but, donations are voluntary.
Several teams have already entered the rodeo and will be competing in four events, team penning, mugging, branding and cow milking. The events are activities performed by cowboys on working ranches.
For those not versed in ranch rodeo terms team penning is when the participant sorts two calves with the same number on their backs and place both in a pen. During mugging, the team sorts one calf out of the herd, ropes it, wrestles it to the ground and ties it up. Branding is where the team sorts one calf, heels it to the ground and brands it. Cow milking is where the team ropes a cow and milks her.
Concessions will be available and Crime Stoppers will have Twelve Days of Christmas raffle tickets available.
Come out to the Paris Rodeo and Horse Club arena, Saturday, October 10 for a fun night of entertainment and let Lamar-Red River County Crime Stoppers thank you for supporting our rodeo for 25 years and Crime Stoppers for almost 30 years.
