Bernice Boren Rodgers, 90, of Royse City, formerly of Paris, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21st, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Schreurs officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Rodgers, the daughter of Mike & Lula Belle Nicholson Boren, was born Sept. 3, 1925, in Blue Ridge, TX.
Her career with Kraft Foods in Garland spanned many years before her retirement. She owned & operated Star Gowns of Distinction in Garland for more than twenty years. There she designed wedding gowns, formals, costumes, Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader uniforms and did work for Mary Kay Ash.
Bernice was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Paris, the Order of the Eastern Star, Newcomers and Paris Garden Club.
She married Billy Rodgers, building fifty-three years of family and memories before his death on March 18, 1999.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Feagan & husband Bob of Rowlett, a granddaughter, Shelly Arthur & husband Richard of Woodland Hills, CA, two great grandchildren, Olivia Arthur and Richard Arthur, several nieces & nephews including David Boren & wife Leigh, Renee Borel & husband Richard, Mark Boren & wife Donna and Joe Wayne Boren.
