Standing ankle deep in the soupy mud, teams faced off Saturday September 12, 2015, to Kick-off this year’s 2016 United Way Campaign.
What began as a friendly challenge, has turned into a highly competitive event with teams travelling from as far away as Amarillo, Texas for a chance to win one of three cash prizes:
1st Place $500 “Sooners”, Ada, Oklahoma
2nd Place $300 “Practice Safe Sets”, Paris Texas
3rd Place $200, “Pittsburg”, from Pittsburg, Texas
On its face, this one-day event is a fundraiser benefitting the United Way of Lamar County. Each of the 23 teams paid $125-150 for entry into the competition. Court Sponsors included Paris Regional Medical Center and Edward Jones Investments-Stephen Gerrald, and Campbell Soup Supply Company; Muddy Sponsors: Paris Police Officers Association, Paris Fire Fighters Association & Rocking E Moving & Storage; and Dirty Sponsors: Brentwood Terrace, Tony Corso Images, Innergyze, and Print Works.
