North Lamar junior Kevin Dawson portrays Comanche leader, Quannah Parker, during Dennis Hodgkiss’s AP U.S. History class on Wednesday for his Independent Studies Project, which is one of the requirements for the class.
Students are asked to research someone who had a significant impact on United States history and then portray the individual in class as accurately as possible for 15 to 20 minutes. Class members are allowed to ask questions at the end of the portrayal.
Successfully presenting the historical significance of the chosen individual requires students to have a very good grasp of the life and accomplishments of the person they choose to portray.
