Basic Life Support Recertification for Health Care Providers certified cardholders is offered from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The American Heart Association certifies the class.
The Dental Assisting Program prepares students for entry-level positions. The purpose of this course is to familiarize the student with all areas of pre-clinical dental assisting and provide training in the professional skills required to function as an assistant in the dental practice. The class meets Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday, Oct. 6-Dec.15, from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
Microsoft Excel Level 1 will be held 6 to 8:20 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday, Oct. 6-13. Learn the basics of creating a worksheet; working with formulas and functions; formatting a worksheet; working with charts, and analyzing data using formulas.
The Pharmacy Technician course will prepare students to enter the pharmacy field and to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board PTCB exam. The class meets Oct. 12-Dec. 2, Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
The Heartsaver First Aid CPR & AED (automated external defibrillator) class teaches basic first aid and CPR/AED procedures, including first aid skills recommended by the Occupational Safety and Health Agency, to those with a duty to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency. The course meets Tuesday and Wednesday, 5:30 to 9 p.m., Oct. 13-14.
The Medication Aide Update class will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16. The course fulfills Texas Department of Health specifications on annual renewal requirement. Med Aides should take this course one month before their certification card expires.
Microsoft Excel Level 2 will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m., Fridays, Oct. 16-23. Learn more advanced techniques to analyze data, enhance charts and to automate worksheet tasks.
A Nurse Aide class will be offered from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, Oct. 19-Nov. 9, with the clinical portion meeting Monday through Wednesday, Nov. 10-24. The class offers preparation for entry level nursing assistants.
The Initial Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers class on lifesaving skills for respiratory and cardiac emergencies will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23. The American Heart Association certifies the class.
