Everyday Yoga… for everyday people!
Everyone can benefit from yoga – classes are held every Monday and Thursday morning at 8:30am at the PCT Brown Center (115 Clarksville Street). There is also a combo class on Wednesday mornings at 8:30am – 30 minutes or yoga/30 minutes of strength training (bring hand weights).
Classes are just $5, no pre-registration or membership required.
The esteemed Mayo Clinic has released the following study on the health benefits of yoga –
- Stress reduction. With its quiet, precise movements, yoga draws your focus away from your busy, chaotic day as you move your body through poses that require balance and concentration.
- Increased fitness. As you learn and refine new poses, you experience improved balance, flexibility, range of motion and strength.
- Management of chronic health conditions. Yoga might help with a variety of health conditions, such as depression, pain, anxiety and insomnia, fatigue and mood. Yoga also can help reduce heart rate and blood pressure.
- Weight loss. Yoga may help you make the healthy lifestyle changes necessary to gain control over-eating and drop those extra pounds.
