Blue Bell has resumed distribution to some North Texas stores, including those in Paris, starting today, November 2nd.
eParisExtra.com calls to both Kroger and Brookshire’s in Paris confirmed that Blue Bell Ice Cream is back on the shelves.
Blue Bell is currently producing only Buttered Pecan, Cookies ‘n Cream, Dutch Chocolate, Homemade Vanilla, and The Great Divide for both half gallon and pint sizes.
Luckily, Paris was included in the second phase of a five-stage plan. Customers in other markets will have to wait.
Blue Bell has been off the shelves since production was halted in April after several cases of listeria were linked to the Texas-based ice cream business.
Ricky Dickson, vice president of sales and marketing for Blue Bell, said in a statement, “We have experienced tremendous consumer response and support since our return to stores on Aug. 31st. This support, coupled with our current production capacity, has slowed our ability to enter additional distribution areas. We are working as hard as we can to keep stores in phase one stocked without jeopardizing the new quality and safety procedures we have implemented to ensure our products are safe and of the highest quality.”
