Gwenda Donell Malone 67, of Powderly, died at 8:25 AM, Friday, November 6, 2015 at Brentwood Terrace Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
A memorial service is set for 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Arbor at Chicota Methodist Church in Chicota, Texas. Friends and family will be gathering afterwards at 3:00 PM at the Chicota Community Center to celebrate Donell’s life. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of cremation arrangements.
Donell was born November 30, 1947 in Lamar County to William Richard and Margaret Faye McCurry Carpenter. She graduated from Chicota High School. Mrs. Malone was a corporate secretary and member of Chicota Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Craig Malone and wife, Robin of Reno; two grandsons, Justin Rosson of El Dorado, Arkansas and Chance Johnson of Paris; three sisters, Maurine Haren, Louise Wilhite, both of Powderly, and Debbie Glosson of Reno; three sisters-in-law, Pat Carpenter, Sherry Brown, and Harlene Clem; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Charles and Duane Clem, and Dickie Ray and G.I. Carpenter; and one sister, Kathleen Skolnik.
