BakerNeal Baker, 77, of Cunningham, passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at UT Southwestern Zale Lipshy Medical Center.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26th, at Cunningham Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Tatum officiating and Ronnie Baker serving as eulogist. Burial will follow in Restland Cemetery at Cunningham. A formal visitation is not scheduled.

Mr. Baker, the son of Otto & Hattie Parks Baker, was born June 5, 1938, in Cunningham.

He graduated from Cunningham High School and began working at Texas Bitulithic Construction where he spent seventeen years. He then began his career with Texas Instruments in Dallas which spanned twenty-one years before his retirement. Upon retirement he and his wife, Ann, made their permanent home in Cunningham.

Neal was a faithful member of Cunningham Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Davis Baker and Hugh Baker and one sister, Margie Byers & her husband Ray.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Boyd Baker, whom he married on Aug. 3, 1963, building fifty-two years of family and memories, one daughter, Stephanie Clark of Mesquite, one son, Jason Baker & wife Toni of Cunningham, grandchildren, Landry Packard & fiancé Leslie Smith of Community, Brittney Baker of Cunningham and Jaci Baker of Cunningham, two brothers, Charles Baker & wife Jenita of Cunningham and Ronnie Baker & wife Linda of Paris, three sisters, Bea Boutwell & husband Buster of Paris, his twin sister, Nell Peel & husband Wayne of Paris and Donnie Lewis & husband Charley of Bogata, two sisters-in-law, Dean Baker Ogden of Longview and Roselain Baker of Biloxi, MS along with numerous nieces & nephews and a plethora of friends.

Casket bearers will be: Dorty Pynes, Jeff Byers, Donoven Baker, Charles Don Lewis, Shannon Baker, Jimmy Boyd, Randy Boyd, John Boyd, Robert Coil and Greg Coil.

If desired, memorials may be made to the Restland Cemetery Association (Cunningham), c/o Guaranty Bank, 3250 Lamar Ave., Paris, TX 75460, in Mr. Neal Baker’s name.

Eddie Baker OBIT PicEDDIE RAY BAKER, 83, of Paris, passed from this life Saturday January 23, 2016 at Dubuis Hospital of Paris. Starrett Funeral Home will conduct graveside rites at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday January 26, 2016 in the pavilion at Long Cemetery in Powderly, where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife Bobbie, with Rev. Duane Hamil and Wade White officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Eddie was born May 26, 1932 in Delta County, a son of Mack O. and Exie Baker. He attended public schools in Paris, then was a loyal employee of Campbell’s Soup Company in their maintenance department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, but his greatest joys were times spent with family and with his church family at The Cowboy Church in the Bible Camp.

He married the former Bobbie Shew on May 27, 1950. She preceded him in death on January 2, 2008.

Those left behind to cherish their memories are a son, Eddie Wayne Baker and wife Nancy, of Powderly; two grandchildren, Chris Baker and wife Deana, and Lisa Martin, all of Powderly; two great-grandchildren, Lane and Cory Martin; a brother, Glenn Baker and wife Carol, of Frisco, five sisters-in-law; a brother-in law, and several nieces and nephews.

Named as honorary pallbearers are Timmy Lester, Connie Tyson, Brian Kelso, Scott Wolfe, Tony Brem, Larry Bramhall and his “adopted  grandson,” Cliff  Bailey.
