Nash001WILLIAM ALFRED NASH 89, of Paris, died at 11:35 AM, Sunday, September 21, 2014 at home. Funeral services are set for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Cannon officiating.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Bill was born December 18, 1924 in Paris to Ollie James and Essie Jewel Veitch Nash. He served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II and upon his return home, he married Maxine Ford on October 16, 1947.  She died on June 9, 1992.  He retired after 30 years from Ben E. Keith Company.  Mr. Nash later married Jeanette Cayer on September 16, 1993.  He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Nash of Paris; his daughter, Mary Alice Kirby and husband, Jim of Powderly; three grandsons, Kent, Kade, and Kris Kirby; and several cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ella Joy Chopel; and his brother, Ollie Wayne Nash.

Asked to serve as pallbearers are Daryl Nash, Richard Drake, Doug Kelley, Jerry Akers, Curtis Meier, and John Chopel.

rhodes001Bobby Rhodes, 70, of Paris passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 in Paris Regional Medical Center.

Bobby was born on March 3, 1944 in Maxey, Texas a son of Dennis and Barbara Leatherwood Rhodes. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Bobby was in the retail business for 35 years in Sulphur Springs, Clarksville and last in Paris at Levines Department Store. He was most recently retired from Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Bobby was truly a family man and the most important people in the world were his wife, his daughters, his son-in-laws, whom he thought of as sons and his grandson Christopher who was the light of his life. His favorite activity was spending time with his family and fishing at Lake Fork.

He was preceded in death by his parents sisters Eloise Goss, Mary Evelyn Woodard, and brothers Cecil Rhodes, James Rhodes, and Robert Rhodes.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 50 years Cherry Rhodes; daughters Mandy Barnett and husband Keith, Melissa LeBlanc and husband Bert; grandson Christopher Barnett; brothers Kenneth Rhodes, Joe Rhodes, Richard Rhodes, and Willie Rhodes; many nieces and nephews and his constant companion Lucy.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Chapel with his nephew Robbie Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery with military honors provided by U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Keith Barnett, Bert LeBlanc, Christopher Barnett, Jimmy Rhodes, George Rhodes, and Robbie Rhodes. Family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M.
